I am an experienced fourteen year Montgomery County Public Schools English teacher at Walt Whitman High School.  I decided to go into tutoring because I love the idea of getting students comfortable in a personal learning environment so that they could gain the confidence and skills to succeed in any academic endeavor and to continue learning on their own.  I have a deep passion for helping people obtain and express the best aspects of themselves.  Tutoring is not about me.  It is about the students I am working with.  Your aspirations.  Your ambitions.  Your goals.  I believe that students respond to creative, focused, personalized instruction, and that is how I approach tutoring and teaching.  There are no fancy tricks or hidden techniques demystified.  It is a combination of skill, understanding, and experience to connect with students.  I work with each individual to improve skills and understanding with an adaptable individualized approach, taking the time to carefully explain and break down content with energy and creativity in a way that is palatable.  I enjoy swimming, running, reading, playing with my kids, and telling funny stories when I am not teaching.
